Contemporary film trailers

Contemporary film trailers

What techniques does this trailer use to persuade an audience to see the film?

The movie starts off with a deep man’s voice saying “when the time magazine called 3D the future of movies, we doubt this is what they had in mind”. Starting off with this sentence tells the audience automatically that the movie is out of the norm, Followed by a scene of a powerboat going through a hedge again shows that the movie is not normal.

How are men represented in this trailer?
In this trailer men are represented in two ways, One way in which people would consider ‘adventurous’ and the other is just plain stupid. Also as they are young men it may reflect the stereotype of young males being careless as clearly the ‘stunts’ performed in the trailer could result in serious injury.

On the basis of this trailer, what target audience would be attracted to this film?
In my opinion this movie is aimed at the younger audience as they can see the adventurous side of the trailer, Also they can see the danger involved in these stunts but also see the funny side as most old people would just describe the trailer as being stupid. People in the C1, D & E category would most likely to the audiences of this film.

What Hollywood values and characteristics can you identify in this trailer?
The Hollywood characteristics seen in the trailer is the stunts which are more like pranks throughout the trailer.
